Is Your Child Ready For An Educational Experience That Nurtures Their Individual Potential?
We Embrace the Quaker Tradition of Fostering a Caring, Inclusive Community Where Every Child’s Voice is Heard and Valued.
Grounded in the principles of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, and equality, our approach to education encourages students to grow academically, emotionally, and socially, while developing a deep sense of compassion and responsibility toward others.
We believe in meeting each child where they are. Our talented educators foster a learning environment where students are encouraged to explore and grow at their own pace. We strive to understand and support the unique needs of every child.
We are proud to create a welcoming space for students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring all children feel supported and valued. Our commitment to equality reflects the core Quaker belief that every individual is equal and deserving of respect.
We focus on experiential education that connects classroom lessons to real-world experiences, helping students develop problem-solving skills they’ll use for a lifetime. Teaching students how to think critically and resolve conflicts in a constructive way.
Be Part of Our Growing Community!
"The staff and community that make up the UFS experience has greatly influenced how our child has blossomed. The blending of classes has created opportunities to be a mentor to others which has led to more confidence. Her teachers have cared and sought to understand how our daughter learns on a deeper level than found at other schools."
We are committed to provide an innovative, progressive, interdisciplinary academic program in our classrooms and beyond. Our students develop a solid foundation of skills and knowledge while cultivating their creative spirit through discovery and experimentation.

What Our Students' Families Have to Say...
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
"United Friends School has been a wonderful atmosphere for my kids. They are free to be themselves and all the teachers appreciate each student for who they are as they begin to find their own identities. As a parent, all I want is for my children to be excited to see their teacher and learn in an environment where they feel safe and confident. I am so grateful to have found this warm engaging school that not only provides my children with all the academic skills but also reflective critical thinking skills while still being a nurturing environment."

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about UFS. This will be our sixth year there and my children love their school. The faculty is amazing and really goes above and beyond to make sure each child has a learning environment in which they can thrive. They spend a lot of time outside and their lessons are very hands on. There are also opportunities for tuition assistance which makes it possible for our family to afford a Quaker Education. I couldn’t imagine sending them anywhere else."

What ages are eligible for the Early Childhood Program?
The program welcomes children starting at 2 years and 7 months through 5 years for Preschool.
What is the learning approach in early childhood?
At United Friends School, early childhood education is rooted in a play-based, emergent curriculum that emphasizes social and emotional development. Children are encouraged to explore, create, and build relationships through hands-on activities and outdoor learning. The program integrates seasonal nature studies, interactive explorations, and Quaker values to foster a nurturing and dynamic learning environment.
What schedule options are available?
UFS offers flexible scheduling to meet family needs. Preschool runs Monday through Friday, offering part-day (8:15 AM–1:00 PM) and full-day (8:15 AM–3:00 PM) options. Playgroup is offered part-time on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8:15 AM to 1:00 PM.
How do you support social and emotional growth?
Social and emotional development is at the heart of a UFS education. Guided by Quaker values, teachers model compassionate behavior and use stories, classroom discussions, and restorative practices to help children navigate emotions and relationships. Friends are encouraged to resolve conflicts peacefully through reflection, open dialogue, and consensus-based solutions, thereby fostering a strong sense of community and individual responsibility.
How often do students spend time outside?
Outdoor exploration is built into the daily rhythm at UFS. In early childhood, students enjoy seasonal nature studies, tending to gardens, engaging in mud kitchen play, and utilizing the outdoor classroom regularly. Across all grades, outdoor education, movement, and physical exploration are integral to the program.
Do students rest or nap during the day?
Yes, full-day students have a designated rest period. Children are provided with a quiet, cozy environment and are encouraged to relax and recharge, whether or not they fall asleep.
